Commissions

Original music created to serve a story.

Compositions for theatre, film, dance, choirs, ensembles and multidisciplinary productions. Each commission is developed in close collaboration to create music that supports the artistic vision while bringing its own distinctive voice.

Multidisciplinary Productions

Where music meets movement, image and performance.

Collaborative projects developed with choreographers, directors, visual artists and performers. These works explore the dialogue between sound, space and storytelling, creating experiences that extend beyond music alone.

Seconds of Fear (2017)

Short Opera | Opera Forward Festival

Seconds of Fear is a contemporary short opera commissioned for the Opera Forward Festival. The work explores the nature of power and the subtle ways it can transform human behaviour and relationships.

Rather than relying on conventional text, the opera is composed in an invented language—gibberish—where music, rhythm and the expressive qualities of the human voice become the primary narrative. Freed from semantic meaning, the audience is invited to experience emotion, tension and transformation through sound itself.

By placing the voice at the centre of the storytelling, Seconds of Fear investigates how music can communicate beyond words, creating a powerful and universal theatrical experience.

Immersive Sound Experiences

Immersive listening experiences that invite presence.

From intimate sound journeys to large-scale immersive performances, these projects combine acoustic instruments, voice, electronics and spatial sound to create environments where audiences become active participants in the experience.

Bringing Heaven to Homes (2020)

Livestream Performance | Music & Dance

Created during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bringing Heaven to Homes was conceived as an artistic response to a world in isolation.

In collaboration with a contemporary dancer, we presented a series of livestream performances centred around the Japanese Heart Sutra, combining voice, movement and ritual to create a shared moment of stillness across physical distance.

Broadcast internationally, the project invited audiences to pause, breathe and reconnect during a period of uncertainty. Rather than focusing on separation, Bringing Heaven to Homes explored how music and movement could transform digital space into a place of presence, reflection and human connection.

A glimpse into the creative process.

Ideas rarely arrive fully formed. This collection shares rehearsals, recordings, sketches, collaborations and moments from the making of each project—offering a look into the craft behind the final performance.

Yat Po Singers (2016)

Commissioned Choral Work | Hong Kong

Following my winning entry in the International Hong Kong A Cappella Composition Competition, I was invited to Hong Kong to compose a new work for the acclaimed Yat Po Singers.

Created in close collaboration with the ensemble, the composition explores the meeting point of contemporary choral music and theatrical performance. While incorporating movement and staged elements, the work keeps music and the expressive power of the human voice at the heart of the narrative.

The project reflects an ongoing interest in expanding the possibilities of choral performance through interdisciplinary collaboration while preserving the musical integrity of the composition.
